Take Me Out to the Ballgame … Approved ✅

We are a week into Spring Training for Major League Baseball, which gives me so much joy! Some of my earliest memories were going to the watch the Houston Astros play baseball in the summer with my Uncle. My husband shares the same memories of his father taking him to Houston Oilers football games. Neither of us could imagine not creating those same memories with our son and watching the world of Houston’s sports leaving their mark on his childhood.
In the summer we try to find it in the schedule to take Jamie to  Houston Astros games. (The first game he ever attended was the Houston Astros vs Miami Marlins game. We thought that would be a great first game since we live in Houston but he was born in Miami.)

From the first time he stepped into Minute Maid Park, he was energetic. The food was certainly a hit … peanuts, chocolate chip cookie as big as his head, soft pretzel, and ice cream in a plastic batter helmet. (He ate dinner before we left home.) I honestly don’t know where he put all that food!

IMG_2202Daddy showed our Young Explorer all the things he did when he played in Little League. That was quite exciting for him. We have attended games where they paid  tribute to service members, the fallen Police Officers in Dallas, Texas, and we love having that added bonus of showing him that we should always pay tribute to those who sacrifice their lives to make our world better.

I have to admit these are some of the moments that I will treasure when he is older. If you ever have the chance to enjoy a baseball game, I hope you do it.

We also had a chance to take in a baseball game with the Sugar Land Skeeters, members of the Atlantic League. Atlantic League players are highly experienced professionals, having progressed through professional baseball developmental levels (A, AA, AAA). These games tend to be more laid back in the atmosphere. Constellation Field, where they play had an amazing play ground and fan activities. It is a full experience.

I definitely recommend  experiencing this wonderful world, even if you are not into sports particularly. It is an experience you will all remember.
